Knights Volleyball Assistant Coach

Job Description: Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) seeks a Volleyball Assistant Coach. The assistant coach works closely with the head coach throughout the season to help improve the skills, court awareness, and overall well being of our players. The assistant coach helps develop practice drills and prepare for upcoming games. This person also facilitates game footage reviews to find areas of improvement.The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be a great communicator, and be able to help track student-athlete development and progress both on the court and in the classroom.

The specific requirements for this program are listed below.

Job Requirements:

• Lead practices and workouts
• Lead game day warm ups
• Travel with team to competitions
• Facilitate curfew regulations
• Provided support to the head coach in ensuring compliance with NAIA rules and regulations
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including player evaluations and outreach.
• Oversee team managers
• Oversee game day operations and film review
• Assist with travel documentation/receipts & return travel receipts etc.
• Assist Head Coach as needed

Position Type - Contract

Compensation

Stipend- $8,000.00 to be paid over a period of 10 months (July 2024 - April 2025)
