Bio

SUNO graduate Zipporah Washington was hired as the Knights' volleyball coach in 2015, and returned to lead the resurgence of the program in 2022. Washington is not new to Knights volleyball as she excelled as a player during her time, earning All-American and Player of the year in 2013. She also graduated from SUNO with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.

As she rebuilds the program, Washington is focused on planning, recruiting, training, and the overall performance of the student-athletes and helping create a cohesive team. As a coach, she works to put the same expectations that she had as a player into her team. She has made it a priority to make sure they are exemplary on the court and in the classroom. This effort has led to keeping her team’s GPA average at 3.8 and having many athletes graduate magna and summa cum laude. Washington has already led the Knights to regular season Co-Champions in 2015 and coach of the year.
