SUNO Knights Secure Victory Over Philander Smith University Panthers in Thrilling Baseball Showdown

In an HBCU Athletic Conference West Division baseball contest on March 15, 2025, the SUNO Knights clinched a decisive 15-7 victory against the Philander Smith University Panthers in Little Rock, AR. WIth the win, the Knights improve their impressive record to 9-1 in HBCUAC play.

The game saw key performances from multiple SUNO players, leading to their victory over the Panthers. Lantigua, Watson, Edmondson, Bowens, Garrett, Jimenez, Gonzalez, Herazo, and Shepherd each scored runs in Saturday's matchup. Notably, Jimenez, Gonzalez, Watson, Shepherd, and Lantigua not only scored but also drove in crucial runs, with Jimenez delivering a key home run in the 4th inning that significantly shifted the momentum in SUNO's favor.

Gonzalez had four hits and notched three RBIs. Alongside him, Jimenez and Shepherd also contributed multiple RBIs. The Knights then had a scoring outburst in the 7th inning to solidify their lead.
