SUNO’s Donte Briggs Named Freshman of the Week

NEW ORLEANS [December 17, 2024] – Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) men's basketball player Donte Briggs has been named HBCU Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week. Briggs was recognized for his performances between December 9-15, the conference announced Monday.
Briggs was key in the Knights' overtime victory over Talladega College. He scored a career- and game-high 19 points and hit five 3-pointers, one of which extended SUNO's lead to three possessions in overtime. He also grabbed four steals. Briggs now ranks third in the HBCUAC in 3-point field goal percentage at 47.8.
