Women's Basketball Heads to Alabama for HBCUAC Crossover
NEW ORLEANS [January 2, 2025] –Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) Women's Basketball hits the road this weekend for the second HBCU Athletic Conference Crossover in Alabama. The Crossover, hosted by Stillman and Talladega Colleges, will take place January 3-7. SUNO will play all four of its games at Stillman College's Birthright Alumni Hall, with its first contest coming against Wilberforce University at 10 a.m. on Friday.
SUNO (3-11, 1-4) last played in December when the school hosted the first Crossover, dropping three games to Talladega, Oakwood, and Stillman. The team's record, however, is in no way indicative of their talent. Led by sharpshooters Kaylan Jack and Jordan Harris, who have amassed 169 and 161 points, respectively, the Knights look to bounce back to their winning ways this week against conference foes. Defensively, the Knights will look for continued production from freshman forward Jakhiya Smith and junior guard McKenna Harris. Smith leads the Knights with 94 rebounds this season, and Harris follows with 80.
