SUNO Women’s Basketball Deals Loss to Wiley

NEW ORLEANS [February 14, 2025] -- In an exciting regular season HBCU Athletic Conference basketball matchup, the SUNO Women's Basketball team secured a victory against the Wiley (TX) Wildcats. The game took place on February 13, 2025, at The Castle, the home court of the SUNO Knights, ending with a score of 66-55 in favor of the Knights.
Kyren Wilson led from the front for the SUNO Knights, contributing a game-high 21 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals, significantly impacting the game's outcome. Other top performers included Maya Matthews and Jakhiya Smith, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. The game was marked by intense periods of play, with SUNO maintaining a lead from an early stage. Highlights of the match included a steady build-up of leads by the Knights and effective scoring spurts from key players. The team demonstrated a robust defensive performance, especially notable in the final quarter when they solidified their lead and prevented the Wildcats from narrowing the gap.
